The following is a list of commercially available veneer systems that a advertised direct to the patients in the media and the internet.

Lumineers brand veneers- are a brand of veneers that are lucite reinforced pressed ceramic (porcelain) made only by the Ceranate Design Studio of the Denmat Corporation and shipped to our Cosmetic dentistry Dallas office. This is designed for the minimal of no reshaping technique. The benefit is that it a reversible procedure requiring no needles or temporaries. It can be made to a thickness of only .2 mm, like contact lenses. Since it is advocated in the no –minimal reshaping technique the teeth are somewhat broader (.4 mm) and thicker (.2mm). and dramatic changes in color and shape are more difficult without making thicker. This is an excellent choice for my Dallas cosmetic dentistry patients who are fearful of having their teeth reshaped but want some esthetic improvements.

Mac Veneers- This is a veneer made and shipped to our Dallas dental practice by Micro Dental Laboratory. They use predominately pressed ceramic made my Ivoclar called Empress but they also have some ceramists who are trained in stacked (feldspathic) ceramics.

DaVinci Veneers- This is a brand of veneers made by DaVinci Dental Laboratory in California and sent to our cosmetic dentistry office in Dallas, TX. This is the laboratory that made the veneers for Bill Dorfman, DDS in the TV show “Extreme Makeover”. They make veneers predominately from feldspathetic ceramic (stacked porcelain).

Empress Veneers- This brand is a pressed ceramic veneer made by Ivoclar Corporation and sold to dental laboratories all over the world and used in some cases in our Dallas cosmetic dental practice for patients who clench or grind their teeth (clenchers and grinders). There are other dental companies that make pressed ceramic but Ivoclar is the biggest and best know. Any ceramist can buy and use this system. I have discussed its strengths and weaknesses in my discussion of pressed ceramics.

Durathins Veneers – A brand of Feldspathic (stacked) Dallas porcelain veneers, these porcelains are sold to ceramists all over the world; one of the biggest producers is the Vita Corporation. I have discussed its strengths and weaknesses above in my discussion of feldspatheitc (stacked) porcelains.

Emax Veneers (Lithium Disilicate) – This is the newer and strongest of the veneer materials, it is available to all ceramists and dentist. It has tremendous upside due to its durability but has more esthetic limitations that the others porcelains mentioned. Ivoclar Corporation, its producer, is developing new more natural colors and better translucency.

With all the different brands of veneers available today, cosmetic dentistry patients should select a dentist that is highly experienced in porcelain veneer makeovers and offer a variety of options to best meet the need of the patient’s unique situation. Often one brand of porcelain or composite veneers does not “fit all”, so be sure that the brand of veneers that you receive as a patient are the kind of veneers that fit your individual needs and desires.

Pet owners have increased in multifold, likewise pet supplies have increased tremendously. Pet Animal supplies have become one of the emergent businesses of the pet industry. Distinct ideas in nutrition, care, food supply, and pet products have given the pet owners an opportunity to provide their pets a comfortable and secured way of life.

Pet health supplies mainly constrict around the sickness your pets may face. Medicines are available to prevent viruses and numerous medications are available for digestion, ear and eye problems, flea and tick treatment as well as prevention medicines, heartworm treatments and prevention. Few main factors to be considered before giving your pet the required medications are reading the directions, expiry date, dosage, and side effects. Expiry date has to be checked so that the medicines prove to be effective and the dosage should be correct so that it does not cause any side effects.

Pet supplies should be supplemented with proper guidelines from a vet. Pet health supplies include dog food. Dog food of good quality should fulfill all the necessities like water, fats, protein and carbohydrates. Vitamins also are essential to give a shining look to your pets coat and strength to bones and teeth. Pets health supplies include vitamins rich in proteins so that your pet improves his health in a period of time. Dogs that are very active or hardworking need sufficient nutrients. Dog vitamins range from $10 to $50 and are available online. Dog vitamins that come in the form of chewable vitamins can be given with cheese or meat, and liquid vitamins can be mixed with water or any other food. Similarly, powder vitamins can also be mixed with other lunch items.

Animal health supplies include comb for your pet that helps in checking fleas and ticks. Flea powders, shampoos, dips and collars for flea treating is available through online pet supplies stores. Creams and ointments are available at pet health supply stores to reduce itching and sores from the pet’s body. Pet supplies recommend garlic as dietary measure.

Pet Supplies includes vaccinating during the initial stages. Vaccination at private centers vaccinate at low cost at their offices. Vaccinating for rabies is essential and it costs around $5 on an average. Veterinarians suggest vaccination for every three years to keep the health safe. Regular dental care helps in keeping your pets gums and teeth health and thus living a longer life.

Have you been considering a family dental insurance plan? If so, then you need to read the following article. We’ve done a direct comparison between dental insurance plans and dental discount plans and the results between the two, good and bad, are below. This should allow you to make an informed decision before you make a purchase. Read on.

We’ll begin with family dental insurance. Dental insurance is still a decent deal if you can get it through a group plan, possibly through your employer. Most companies that offer dental coverage get a very reasonable group rate and pass it on to the employees at price that they can usually afford, although they normally have to pay additional for their entire family to be covered. Most family dental plans will cost as much as $100.00 per month if purchased privately.

Normally, dental insurance plans won’t cover pre-existing conditions. This means that if you or one of your family members has a cavity, that is obviously not new, then you would most likely have to pay for that filling procedure out of your own pocket. You will normally have a waiting period for a minimum of six months and as long as two years before the plan really “kicks in” and provides adequate coverage for yourself and your family. Most dental insurance will cover a good portion of your regular check ups though. This is preventive coverage and it makes sense for them to pay for a small amount now to make certain that everything is alright, rather than letting a problem go and paying a much larger amount later.

Dental discount plans are exactly that, a discount plan. They first became popular a little over ten tears ago and, for some individuals and families, have been a godsend because they are unable to to afford traditional dental insurance premiums, especially when they would have such a long waiting period before they could have their pre-existing condition repaired.

This is how a dental discount plan works. You pay a small fee, either monthly or annually, to have either yourself or your entire family covered by the plan. After joining you’ll be sent paperwork with all of the discounted rates that you will have to pay for each procedure performed and also a list of all participating dentists in their network that practice in your area.

The way that this works is you simply set up an appointment with the dentist and then pay them the discounted fee after the procedure has been performed. That’s it. They get paid their discounted rate cash on the barrel head and you get a substantial savings on your dental work by simply becoming a member of the discount dental plan and by paying cash at the time of your visit. Pre-existing conditions are fine, there are no age limits or exclusions and there is no billing done.

The choice is really up to you. Do you believe that family dental insurance is your best option or would a dental discount plan be your best option? Good luck!

Going for a vacation especially overseas can be so exciting. But no matter how well we plan our vacation unthinkable events can often happen. The weather may not be on your side, you might get sick in the middle of your trip, you lose your luggage along the way and other events you never might have expected may happen to someone like you.

Before you leave, check your health insurance. Most health insurance plans would not extend to outside of your country. It is best to call and check with your insurance company exactly what is being covered by your insurance coverage.

If you have plans to rent and drive a vehicle in your overseas destination, you have to obtain an international driver’s license. Countries basically have different driving and traffic rules, so educate yourself by reading on the regulations and guidelines of your country of destination. Make sure that you have adequate insurance because your current car insurance policy may not cover you outside of your country unless you have an umbrella policy that provides you with worldwide coverage. Contact your car insurance agent or provider for the details of your coverage and if you need additional coverage.

Lost luggage insurance would come in handy when you travel abroad. You feel at ease knowing that just in case your luggage gets lost in transit and will not be recovered having lost luggage insurance will cover the cost of your luggage’s contents.

A trip can be canceled due to circumstances or situations that may be beyond our control. Instances like having booked for a cruise line that suddenly goes out of business prior to your date of departure or weather conditions that cancel your trip can be frustrating. Trip interruption insurance can cover part or all of the expenses of a vacation trip in case it gets canceled. In some cases, trip interruption insurance can cover for both the flight and hotel costs when you cancel for reasons of a death in the family or sickness.

Most insurance companies offer an overseas insurance package and the reimbursement depends on the following factors: age and the number of the people traveling in the group and the trip duration. A typical package would generally include medical and dental emergency, accidental death and dismemberment, medical evacuation emergency, damage or lost luggage, rental car protection, interruption, delay, cancellation or default of trip and others. Your insurance provider or agent can give you details on such.

SOCIAL JUSTICE THROUGH HEALTH CARE

We hardly come across a person who may be fully satisfied with the health care delivery system run by either the government or the private sector. This is true not only for developing but for all the developed countries as well. Every law abiding, contributing individual has some legitimate expectations from the state. Disenchantment with present dispensation of health care compels people to seek better options across the borders. Even the present flow rate of patients from developed to developing countries has assumed the proportions of Medical tourism. Medical tourism is not a one-way traffic. Poor from India are known to visit Rashid Hospital at Lahore for kidney transplants. Medical tourism will definitely bring in world class equipment and services in our corporate hospitals. These corporate tertiary care hospitals can act as excellent referral hospitals. Lack of enough clinical material, as the patients are often referred to in medical parleyences is prompting the doctors from developed world into medical adventurism. Very recently two NGO’s headed by renowned plastic surgeons of Indian origin were in India, claiming to their credit hundreds of cleft lip and palate surgeries conducted in one week. During my brief interaction when I asked them one basic question that how do you justify single step surgery by a single specialist for a clinical entity that require 3-5 set up surgeries by 10 specialists over a period of 20 years, there was no answer. On record local doctors conduct all these surgeries. These NGO’s bring in a battery of trainee resident doctors for hands on training. Dumping of questionable services and drugs continues unabated in the absence of stringent regulations. Clear-cut up to date guidelines by health authorities have yet to be issued to safe guard the health interests of this nation. Most of the drugs banned in developed countries are still being dumped in the Indian market. Commerce alone dictates the policies of multinational companies in health sector of developing countries. State and national medical councils, the watch dogs of our national health interests are controlled by elected representatives from among the doctors. Competitive populism for being elected to these high offices takes away the very sting off these regulators. In this ‘market forces’ driven health sector, apart from other factors, size of the population, economic prosperity and literacy levels dictate the out look of key players. Subjective as well as objective assessments of the health care operations leave people confused with huge piles of data and endless interpretations. At the tail end of govt. health care delivery system is the rural dispensary or the slum revamping center, and the end user an illiterate or semi literate villager or a slum dweller. Dispensary is the humane face, the welfare state can present to its people. In yesteryears the service providers were from among the same social class they used to serve. Doctor can be a friend, philosopher and guide to the locals. Unfortunately the economic and social disparity between the service providing doctors and the service user population has grown enormously. Ad-hocism in health care delivery should be done away with immediate effect. Doctors and paramedical staff appointed on yearly contract basis are not showing any interest in the national programmes. Established private health care providers also have not shown any meaningful commitment for national programmes. Middle class itself has fragmented. Now it is fashionable to assign economic values to any issue like gender, but for social responsibility and justice. In this era of fast paced growth, the unorganized, silently suffering millions can not be wished away. Once reading on biodiversity I stumbled upon a very interesting quote, “only the species with economic importance will survive”. In our active pursuit for magnetizing economy, we assigned economic values to any thing except for morals. Commercialization of education has produced a new breed of professionals who have scant regard for professional ethics. Privatization is the buzzword with governments, because it takes away government responsibility. Private sector players are eyeing many ‘viable’ health institutions. There are no takers for commercially non-viable rural institutions. Rural health institutions dispense social medicine. Very recently one of the key players from private sector health care quoted the cost of developing one bed in corporate hospital at Rs. 30-60 lacs. These corporate health services are definitely out of each of the common man. These type of hospitals are definitely required for a nation with the present rate of growth but ‘bharat’ definitely needs different kind of hospitals. There are very strong social under currents against the exploitive private healthcare, inadequate government sector health care resources and the indifferent approach of welfare state. Health for all is a very lofty but expensive proposition. There are ways and means to reduce the pressure from government institutions. Private-public partnership, health insurance, monitoring and regulation of private sector health care can all make the things bit easy. Preventive health care education can go a long way in improving the public health. Community participation in health care has produced few but wonderful examples. Complementary community participation can make up for minor but critical deficiencies in the government run health care system. Setting up of health system corporations with World Bank assistance has already improved the working of govt. sector health care institutions considerably. Community participation through NGO’s can still improve the system, but most of the meaningful NGO’s turn their back on govt. run health care institutions because of their doubts on the integrity of government officers. Government health care institution are increasingly seen not as caring hospitals but like police stations, where medico legal reports are written and postmortems conducted. Most of the government doctors’ time is spent in courts appearing as medico legal experts witnesses. Emergency, post mortem, and then the VIP duties in addition hardly leave the doctors free for any meaningful job at government hospitals. There is an urgent need to have separate curative, preventive, legal, administrate and health intelligence wings. Government hospitals attract the poorest of the poor, mostly people from the unorganized sector. Their contribution to national GDP is by no means small. With the present growth rate, upward social mobility is seen in every strata of society. Many segments of this unorganized sector can be organised so that they also enjoy the patronage of welfare state in the form of health insurance policies. Apart from direct benefit to these segments of society, the state will benefit from the ‘off loading’ of burden from government run health care system and loading it on insurance driven private sector health care institutions. Poorest of the poor will repose faith in welfare state. Sanjivini, health insurance policy with the Punjab Milkmen Cooperative Societies is already a big success. ECHS (Ex servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) is an other success story. These success stories can be replicated with countless groups like, panwallas, dhabewallas, autorikshaw drivers etc. Simply organize the unorganized sector. There is no dearth of role models from among government doctors also. Their inclusion rather than drift after dissent from the present dispensation of health care will immensely improve the system. Stability of tenure is an excellent incentive government can give to its doctors without costing anything to exchequer. Yet tenure beyond decades should be discouraged as it leads to development of vested interests of the old incumbents and denial of chance to the youngsters. Resource mismatching is a major problem in the govt. run health care system. There are dispensaries where specialists are posted and still many more civil hospitals where non-specialist are posted. These mismatching result in defective and inefficient health care. Nodal Hospitals can be created for round the clock emergency services by cannibalizing defunct and sick institutions where equipment worth crores is lying unused and salary bills are bleeding the exchequer white. Most of the medical officers retire in the same administrate rank. This undue stagnation has forced many a brilliant doctors out of service. By simply seeking options for place of posting, honestly implementing with minimum displacement on merit can also revitalize the govt. doctors’ cadres. Private sector health care delivery system is a totally market driven commercial enterprise. So called ‘market forces’ have least respect for ethical and moral value systems. Multi level marketing chains have evolved in the name of referral systems. End result is exploitation of the unsuspecting common man, who still regards his healer a holy person. This ‘incentive’ system is strengthening the hold of unqualified, unscrupulous and unregistered medical practitioners on illiterate masses. Not many qualified doctors are unscrupulous. A large section of private health care providers feel genuinely threatened by blackmailers of all sorts. Consumer protection act is a very convenient beating stick in the hands of their tormentors.

Under the constant threat of being blackmailed, the private health care providers are becoming more defensive in attitude. More patients are being referred to tertiary care institutions for this reason only, thereby flooding the referral institutions. People have a common feeling that sickness is an invitation for exploitation at the hands of private health care providers. Even the charitable hospitals are charging as heavily as fully private hospitals. Medical profession is fully responsible and capable of self-correction. Medical councils and associations can jointly evolve a fail-safe mechanism to keep their black sheep under check even without government help, but the buck stops with the government. Welfare state is duty bound not only in providing health care delivery system but also proper health care administration and social justice through its health care delivery mechanism.

Dog, the most desired animal as a pet is entertaining for some, while some detest even the mere idea of taking care of it. Dog as a pet involves various commitments. A dog needs utmost attention right from the food he takes to the place he stays as he contracts disease very easily than any other animal. Children enjoy the very presence of a dog as it is a very lovable animal.

It is very important to institute a feeling and environment of affection, confidence and make him feel at home. This feeling can be developed by providing him all the comforts he deserves; in return he will show his gratitude by being faithful and lovable to one and all in the family. Simple things can be acquired from dog supplies stores. There are numerous dog supply stores that give you the tips of taking care to the comfort it can be provided.

Glazed pottery is not advisable for dogs as these potteries are made of lead which is hazardous to dogs. A leather strap with a brawny clip fastener as well as an identification tag is good to hold them during walks. A canine type of comb and brush is required to brush their hair. Similarly, a chewing toy or a hard rubber ball is appreciated as it is convenient for him to hold in its mouth and play. This is one of the best activities for him to keep himself active throughout the day.

Dog supplies stores are equipped with various necessities of dogs like apparels, carriers, beds, blankets, bones, chews, bowls for water or feeding, food, grooming articles, health care books , stain and odor restricting powders, toys, mats, life jackets, dog houses, and many more information regarding dog its supplies and care.

Subsequently, dogs need outing at rare intervals. Carrying them is a tedious and tiring process. This can be done comfortably with dog carriers, bicycle carrier, tote bag, pet carriers, and many more. Carriers are designed to suit the traveling styles. Dog carriers provide a comfortable car ride to your country or a near by area to a vet. Pet carriers for traveling by plane are of exquisite quality, yet approval from the air lines is mandatory if your pet has to travel as it guarantees traveling in a safest possible way.

All dental plans charge a membership fee, with the amount varying from one plan to the other. Dental plans are offered to either individuals or to the whole family, with family dental plans usually offering bigger discounts than individual dental plans. You should compare the rates charged under the different plans before selecting the most appropriate one for you.

It is important also to know the type of dental services covered by your dental plan. Routine dental check ups and dental treatments such as oral examination, teeth cleaning, fluoride treatment, teeth filling and teeth extraction are generally covered by most dental plans. However, dental plans do not always cover major dental care treatments such as oral surgery, dental implants, restorative care, braces, root canal treatments etc. In case of such costly dental procedures you unfortunately have to foot the bill yourself. Often there are a number of alternative treatments available for certain dental problems. Under such circumstances dental plans allow reimbursement for the cost of the basic dental treatment, and further costs in excess of the basic treatment cost has to be covered by the patient.

Dental health plans may or may not allow you to choose your own dentist, but it is common practice for patients to generally receive dental care from dentists mentioned in the plan. Before choosing a plan make sure that the participating dentists practice in your area. Choose a plan that is accepted nationwide and not restricted to your state. Check whether you are allowed to visit the dentist unscheduled, or at scheduled hours only.

You also need to decide whether you want an annual plan or a monthly plan. Annual dental plans are more cost beneficial than monthly plans. So get regular check ups with your dentist to reap the maximum benefits out of your dental plan.

Alternative Health Tips

Naturopathy is Swasha Vritha or the prophylactic or preventive aspect. Ayurveda is the Athura Vritha or Therapy. Both are related sciences.

Daily Routines or Dinacharya, according to Ayurveda

The ideal time to get up is 04.30 AM. This is known as Brahma Muhurtha or the Time of Brahman, the Absolute. After getting up, one should know the condition of the body. Then one should brush one’s teeth and go to toilet for bowel movement. One should brush teeth twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.

Then one should go in for an Oil Bath. Oil, preferably coconut oil should be used. This oil should be pasted all over the body and one should wait for at least 30 minutes and then take a bath. Cold bath is ideal but for those suffering from diseases hot water bath is good.

Oil bath gives you good sleep. Weakness of the body will disappear. Your body will grow in strength. Your eyes will sparkle. ” Abhyangam Achareth Nithyam ” says Ayurveda ( Daily you should go in for Oil Bath ). But those suffering from indigestion and excess Kapha should not go in for Oil Bath.

Pathya – Diet Control

When Ayurvedic medicines are taken, one should observe Pathya or Diet Control.

The Six Tastes of Ayurveda are – Sweet, bitter, astringent, sour, pungent and salty. Those suffering from Hyperacidity or Ulcer should not take in foods that are Sour or Pungent. This is known as Pathya. For every disease, there are foods that should not be taken in. For people suffering from heart trouble, cholesterol containing eggs, meat, beef etc should not be taken in. This is Pathya.

Now there is a saying in Ayurveda that for one observing Pathya, there is no need for medicine, as negative food is phased out and Spontaneous Cure takes place. Also for one not observing Pathya, as intake of medicines become useless, as negative food devastates his disease.Pathya means the Way to Health. Apathya means taking in the negative food which foster the disease.

Banana – Nature’s Tonic

The Banana is full of vitamins and minerals. It contains iron, phosphorus and vitamins like Niacin and Riboflavin. A big banana can confer more than 200 calories.

The fructose contained in banana turns to energy after intake. Along with protein and starch, it contains minerals like sulphur, iron, magnesium, copper & calcium. There is less fat content in bananas.Bananas will reduce the acidity in blood. It contains Vitamins C, A, B, D & E.

Along with bananas, warm milk should be taken. This is the ideal food for growing children. But then the obese should not take milk along with bananas. As Bananas have Rasayana properties, use of it will keep you young. You can live for months only on bananas.Bananas can be used as medicine for patients with liver complaints and for digestive tract disorders. Also it can be taken by those suffering from Malnutrition and Scurvy. Also for patients suffering from eye and dental diseases. ( as it contains Vitamin A & Cacium ).

Continence or Brahmacharya

By Continence or Brahmacharya, we mean the control of libidinal life. Both Ojas ( Light ) and Veerya ( Virility ) are based on the Seventh Tissue Element, Semen. Avoid the misuse of this great Dhathu, says Ayurveda. Too much indulgence in sex makes you lose this Seventh Tissue Element and this will result in weakness of body. Body ache, headache etc will be the result. Loss of semen adversely affects reversely the other Six Tisssue Elements.

If you observe Brahmacharya ( practise Continence ), improved memory, grapsing power, physical strength, discriminative intellect, mental happiness, increase of Ojas or effulgence on the face etc will be the result. In order to have good health, you have to control sex. But then as pure Brahmacharya is impossible for married men, controlled Brahmacharya or celibacy is advocated.

Insomnia

Lack of sleep is due to many factors – Anxiety, mental tension, over exercise, emotional suffering etc. When Anger and enmity are suppressed, sleeplessness is the result. Constipation, digestive tract disorders, coffee, tea etc will destroy sleep. Thoughts about sleeplessness will only compound the problem. Use of sleeling pills is not ideal. You may have to depend on such pills. And increasing the quantity is asking for trouble. If Alcohol is taken along with pills, there will repercussions.

Avoid beverages like Cola, tea and coffee. And take in less fatty foods. Avoid fried foods. Take only small quantity of food at night. If you have warm milk before going to sleep, if you keep the mind tranquil, you will doze off to slumberland. You should take food 3 hours before going to bed. It will be better if you can hear peaceful music. Reading is also a good habit which will take you to slumberland. You should walk at least half an hour before going to sleep. It will help to digest the food taken. Meditation will give you good sleep.

Constipation

The modern fast food culture is responsible for Constipation. Anxiety, fear, mental tension – all these create Constipation. Naturopaths averr that Constipation is the root cause of all diseases. Some antacids also create Constipation. In certain conditions, water will be absorbed in the Colon and faecal matter may solidify. Such hard stools are difficult to dislodge.Lack of proper timing of food, anxiety, mental problems etc all cause Constipation. Constipation will create back pain, weight in the stomach, headache, loss of appetite etc.

Intake of fruits and vegetables organically grown, 12 glasses of water daily, ensure mental peace, correct bowel movements – all these will cure Constipation

Gas Trouble or Hyperacidity

This is a very common disease. In India, there are very few homes without antacid tablets ! On one side, we take a lot of antacids and on the other take in acidic foods ! Amongst the Six Tastes, that which is Sour, Pungent and Salty foster Hyperacidity.

Fried foods, foods containing Masala, very cold drinks, potato, plantains – all these foster Gas Trouble. Lack of exercise is one of the causative factors. Also working seated for long hours.Mental tensions also foster this disease. It is not what you eat, but it is what eats you that is the cause of this common disease.

Mental pain, thoughts of revenge, fear – all these pave the way for this malady. There is an Emotional Center in the brain. When we have mental upsets, this Emotional Center stimulates the oxintic cells in our stomach to secrete Hyrochloric Acid.Lots of gas going from the rectal tract, indigestion – all these are the symptoms of gas trouble. Naturopaths averr that Constipation is the cause of this disease, nay, for all diseases !

Hurry, Worry and Curry are the main causative factors for this disease. Eating food fast, overeating, foods with masala, sour, pungent, salty foods, pickles, chillies, potato, soda, cola, chilled beer, nictoine, alcohol, very hot foods, chewing gum – all these cause Hyperacidity.Prevention is better than Cure. Avoid the Apathya foods and be healthy !

More information about Ayurveda can be had at

http://www.eastrovedica.com/html/ayurveda3.htm

Contradictory Foods

Contradictory Foods are known in Ayurveda as ” Samyoga Viruddha”. When contradictory foods are taken in, it will increase the Doshic imbalance and becomes the cause of many diseases.Shrimp and Milk, Fish and butter, Sour fruits & Milk – are some examples of Contradictory Foods. They are to be avoided at all costs.

Chicken & butter should not be taken in simultaneously. Honey and ghee in equal quantities also is prohibited in Ayurveda

Colon Hydrotherapy

Naturopathy says that diseases are caused by the accumulation of morbid matter. Natural Hygiene says the cause is Toxemia, or the infusion of toxins into the blood.

One of the methods of cleaning the Colon is Enema or Colon Hydrotherapy.I have been practising Enema for the last 18 years. In 1989, while I was participating in an Exhibition Stall in Trichur ( a 41 day affair ), the nearest stall was a Naturopathy stall and the Chief Naturopath told me that the best way to get rid of Gas trouble was to take 15 light enemas.

I bought an enema can and have been doing this when I have any rectal block. This therapy is effective as we can see putrified faecal matter going out 10 minutes after the enema is administered. This is Jalopasana or Water Therapy or Hydro Therapy. All the ancient cultures advocated Hydro Therapy, as Water has got tremendous medicinal properties. Not only faecal matter, but gas, mucous and toxins go out of the rectal tract.

Fasting Therapy

Fasting Therapy is one of the best therapies. The digestive system gets rest during fasting. ” Lankhanam Paramoushadam ” – Fasting is the best medicine. Water Fasting, Fruit Fasting, Juice fasting — there are many types of fasting. Juice Fasting is superior to Water Fasting as the body is supported nutritionally.

The basic principle of Naturopathy is that Nature has healing power and that the Five Doctors are the Elemental Five -Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. ( Annam Brahma ). By Annam is not meant Food, but the Five Doctors, the Five Elements. ” The Five Doctors are the best, as the Five Elements are prior to all “, declares the Upanishads. ( Annam hi bhoothanam jyeshtyam, thasmad Sarvoushadam Uchyathe )

Ghee – The True Rasayana

Rasayana Therapy is Rejuvenation Therapy. That which rejuvenates the body is Rasayana. Ghee is considered to be the True Rasayana. All Ayurvedic preparations are based on ghee, I mean, almost all the Rasayanas. Ghee contains Vitamins A E, K D etc. Vitamin E and Vitamin A are anti-oxidants. Diseases are caused by the excessive production of Free Radicals and these two are antidotes to Free Radicals. The famous Chyavan Prash is based on Ghee. It is said that the Rasayanas confer beauty, longevity, intelligence, youthfulness, health etc. Ghee, taken in moderate quantities, will confer these.

If you’ve always wanted to work in a hospital or doctor’s office, becoming a healthcare support staffer might be just the shot in the arm your career needs. With training from a top-notch career college, in about 8 to 12 months, depending on the program, you can be a valued team member in a hospital, lab, pharmacy, physician’s office or dental practice.

According to the Department of Labor, healthcare will generate three million new jobs between 2006 and 2016, more than any other industry, employing over 12 million workers*. California, in particular, has a shortage of healthcare professionals, with vacancies across the state, raising salaries and increasing employment opportunities for high school graduates, career changers and other job seekers.

Although the media has focused on the critical need for registered nurses (RNs), well-trained and competent clinical support staff, such as Medical Assistants and Surgical Technologists, as well administrative support staff, including Health Claims Examiner/Medical Billers, are also an essential component in providing quality healthcare services.

In the past, on-the-job training might have been sufficient to become a member of a medical/dental office or lab support staff. But today, the bar has been raised: workers need to hit the ground running, with a complete understanding of the advances in medical technology, as well as the knowledge and practical skills necessary to be competent in different environments, whether private, public, governmental or university-based. As a Medical Assistant, for example, you might expect to help out with basic insurance billing, medical records and other office skills, but you might also check vital signs or help set up for physical exams. Medical Assistants have found work in hospitals, clinics, HMOs, and home health organizations.

Other hands-on, patient-oriented careers that have been increasing along with a growing and aging population are Massage Therapist, Pharmacy Technician, and Dental Assistant.

Vocational Nursing is a respected, rewarding career that allows you to help people each and every day. It’s a career that offers high demand opportunities for qualified nurses in hospitals, doctors’ offices, clinics, colleges, home health agencies, and convalescent homes. It’s also a great first step for those considering further advancement in nursing or other healthcare careers.

Optical Dispensing is another field with great potential. An optical dispensing specialist who passes the National Opticianry Exam and Contact Lens Registry Exam can be qualified to work as an ophthalmic lab technician, contact lens fitter, eye doctor’s assistant, manufacturer’s representative or optical office manager. You can even open your own store someday — an exciting and challenging opportunity to realize your financial and personal independence.

No matter what healthcare support staff position is right for you, look for an accredited college with qualified faculty, modern facilities, and placement assistance. An admissions representative can help you figure out where your aptitude and talents lie. And when the time comes, you can receive help with interviewing skills, resume preparation, and job leads.

“I felt like I was in a dead end in my career, and now a whole new world has opened up for me,” said one recent healthcare graduate.

Some people view pet ownership as simply a way of bringing a new member into the family unit. They want the pet to have the best of care in all stages of life just as they would want any family member to have. Obtaining personal insurance policies for pets can be quite complex at times because there are unusual circumstances that might affect the cost of insurance coverage.

Some personal insurance policies for pets require the pet to be in good health at the start of the policy. These pet insurance policies are usually provided by veterinarians and will usually only provide a certain dollar amount of coverage if the pet is hit by a car or suffers an injury while at home. Broken bones might be charged at a higher rate at some veterinarian offices and the insurance reimbursement for these charges will be paid at the absolute minimum.

Other veterinarians offer full coverage on the personal insurance policies for pets that they sponsor. They feel that a family pet deserves the best medical care possible and this includes routine visits for check-ups that are not viewed as an emergency. The emergencies might require long-term kennel care which might add to the cost of the personal pet insurance policy but homeowner expect some things to be excluded from any policy they put in force.

Some groups have formed insurance companies that are willing to include pets under their coverage umbrella. These groups have done a good job on concentrating coverage to specific areas of an animal’s life. They are willing to give well animal visits in the first stages of life and reduce the price of the visits to veterinarians that have joined the group and agree to charges that these groups think is fair.

Some veterinarians working for their own interests might be willing to provide personal insurance coverage that performs limited services for a discounted rate of at least 25 percent off the regular prices. The care that a pet receives might include regular dental cleaning, worming and a thorough inspection of ears and outer extremities. Surgical procedures will not be included on these low-cost pet insurance agreements.

Pet insurance was created because some pet owners could not afford to take a pet to a veterinarian on a regular basis. Harder decisions had to be made when the pet got injured and the cost of repairing these injuries put the family’s financial savings in jeopardy. Instead of making a decision to save the pet and make the needed repairs to bones or provide treatments for cancer and other incurable diseases, some pet owners had to make the decision to euthanize the pet and put it out of its misery.
